The evolution of a building over time in a title. This Gorgie (Edinburgh) landmark stands as a reminder to early twentieth century design, as such became Category B listed some time ago. I worked under another architect to change it from a bingo hall to a church. 10 years later under my own steam, I helped to make it into a venue and facility whose spaces work as hard as possible for the people that use it. It required listed building consent and planning permission, but the changes would be mainly internal. New toilets, new rooms added to get it working for the 600 or so people who are in there every week. The changes are occurring bit by bit.
