Gemini, the third sign in the Zodiac, is associated with the constellation, its Latin name meaning “twins”. In Greek mythology, the twins are the mythological duo of Castor and Pollux, the sons of the Spartan queen, Leda. Castor’s father was the human king of Sparta, while Pollux was fathered by Zeus, who seduced Leda in the form of a swan. Upon Castor’s mortal death, Pollux begged Zeus to grant Castor immortality. Zeus obliged, and the twins are forever united in the Heavens.
