Rite Map Packs: Ocean Cave

Tommi Salama, cartographer for Adventure Quarterly and AdventureaWeek, presents the right map for your pirate cove needs with Rite Map Pack: "Ocean Cave"?.

This multi-page PDF allows you to print out both battlemaps at a 1 square=1 inch scale as a letter-format map and is also available in a printer-friendly light grayscale version. It also includes JPEGs of the maps with and without grids for use with your favorite virtual tabletop.

This map originally appeared in Adventure Quarterly #5

How to use Rite Map Packs

This map pack contains a map cut up into pages that you can print off on your personal printer and assemble them on your gaming table. The first page that shows the full page is a reference to help when laying out the pages. You can of course switch your printer to greyscale to save on color ink. This map pack also includes two JPGs of the map with and without the grids for use on your preferred virtual tabletop program.

Each page holds a panel of the map. These have been sized for either U.S. Letter or international A4 paper sizes and allow for a blank margin and the edge. When printing make sure you use the correct PDF for your paper format. Under print options turn off scale to fit "" this will ensure that the map prints out with 1-inch squares that will work with your other gaming products. Each panel of the map has ½ inch of overlap with the panels beside them, which will help to line them up.

Once you print them out, you can tape the panels together beforehand or lay them out as the players explore.
