Each Animal Races product introduces a new player character race based on an animal or group of animals. Each race features uniquely customizable racial traits, new feats, and new rules for heraldic symbols. Each product also details the primary culture of the featured race, with extensive information about that culture's folklore, genealogy, and religion.

These races can be used individually, or in any combination. A focus on internal consistency is one of the primary goals of the Animal Races product line. Every featured animal race is descended, directly or indirectly, from the same clan of legendary ancestors.
